Familia Alarcón
La Palestina farm was purchased in 1960 by Juan Bautista Alarcón Gonzales and his wife Soraida. The family has always been involved in coffee production, initially cultivating Catimor for its resistance to "roya" disease, but later shifting to Bourbon when they discovered it was even more resistant.

Washed Gesha
For the past two decades, the Alarcón family has focused exclusively on Bourbon, with the goal of producing 90-scoring coffee. They have also introduced new varieties, including the "Marchell" mutation of Bourbon, Gesha, and Java. Since 2018, the family has collaborated with Origin Coffee Lab, led by Jose Rivera, to embrace technology and innovation in planting, harvest spacing, and cup quality.
Through Origin Coffee Lab's training, Aníbal Alarcón (one of the Alarcón brothers) has specialized in coffee quality and fermentation. In 2019, he achieved an 88 in cup quality in the "Cup of Excellence" contest.
